

Daisy Davis Carter Patience 98, of Reading went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2018 in Berkshire Center. She was born January 30, 1919 in Franklinton, NC a daughter of the late Rev Ernest L and Florence Myers Davis.
She moved to Reading when she was 3 years old. Her father was called to pastor Washington Street Presbyterian Church. It was the first time she saw snow! Daisy was a 1936 Reading High School graduate.
She married Clarence Carter and to this union God gave her a miracle son, Lionel B Carter. She was not supposed to be able to have children due to having radiation implants , but God had other plans. This marriage dissolved and many years she met and married Leroy Patience.
In her teen years, she was a member of the church and several organizations in the church and community including Christian Endeavor, Young People's Presbyterian Fellowship, Young People's Westminster Presbyterian Fellowship, and the Fourth and Laurel Streets Community Chorus. In later years she was ordained as an elder in the church and was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church. When the Women's AGLOW Fellowship International was formed, Daisy was president until 2006.
Daisy is survived by her daughter-in-law Mildred (Johnson) Carter widow of Lt Lionel B Carter of Sinking Spring, her sister Agnes Snead of Lansdowne, grandson Randall Carter of Phoenix, AZ., 2 step-granddaughters; Veronica, widow of Carl Moreno of Reading, Stephanie Black-Pochuski, wife of William Pochuski of Reading, and 4 great grandchildren; Issac H Burns, Jr, Cassandra Carter, Demetrius Carter, and Breanna Duson. Daisy was also predeceased by her grandson, Rodney Carter.
A Celebration of Life Services will be Friday January 19, 2018 at 11am in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St Reading. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be Friday 9-11am in the funeral home.
