Born on January 03, 1940 in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was a son to the late Harry and Evelyn Seiders.
Dave graduated with highest honors with a degree in economics from LaSalle College and then received his PHD from Penn State University. He served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board, then as Chief Policy Analyst for housing finance with President Reagan’s commission on housing, and finally as Chief Economist and Senior Staff Vice President at the National Association of Home Builders. After retirement, he received an honorary faculty appointment and distinguished visiting professor from Marymount University.
He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 56 years, his son Chris Seiders and wife Wendy, son Jeff Seiders and wife Angie, his daughter Amy Patterson and husband Chris “Farmer”, his beloved grandchildren Jeffrey, Emily, Morgan and Nathan, his brother Greg Seiders, brother Joe Seiders and wife Sharon, brother Doug Seiders and wife Cheryl, and sister Ann Esterly and husband Ken.
Dave was an avid golfer who was happiest playing a round of golf with his friends and family. He looked forward to the annual “beach trip” to Nags Head where he liked to spend quality time "misbehaving" with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time spoiling his grandkids, going to their sporting events, and instilling a little “G-Dad wisdom” with them. He was a dearly loved husband, father, and grandad, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, Virginia.
All are welcome to raise a glass to Dave at his celebration of life on Thursday, March 10th from 5pm to 7pm at Demaine Funeral Home located at 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Virginia 22151. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, March 11th at St. Michael Catholic Church located at 7401 St. Michael’s Lane, Annandale, Virginia 22003 at 10am.
Burial arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, Reading, PA.
A graveside committal will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605.
