Denis was born in Reading to the late Shirley (Hamilton)and Richard Harting and late biological father Clarence Bartholomew.
Denis was a longtime employee of Baldwin Hardware until its closure and ended his career at Deka/ East Penn Manufacturing. Denis was a lifelong 49er fan, a gun enthusiast, and enjoyed history.
Denis was preceded in death by his sister Sue Nowak and her husband Dale and nephew Dale Jr, adopted brother Rick Nowak, and brothers Claude “Butch” Harting and Charles Harting.
Denis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Theresa Harting. He leaves behind his children: Melissa and Carl Pettinato Jr and Theresa Lee. Additionally his four grandchildren: Joseph Lee, Damian Lee, Kaitlyn Pettinato, and Megan Pettinato. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs Duke and Annie.
