Dolores R. Andrews

Dolores R. Andrews, 89, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2014 at Legacy House Hospice, Ocala, Florida. She was born December 22, 1924 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Charles Leo Bowers born in Pottsville, and Florence Reifsnyder born in Tremont, Pennsylvania.

At a young age the family moved to Reading, Pennsylvania where she grew up and worked mainly in the textile manufacturing plants in the area. She worked as a Quality Control and Lab Technician for Western Electric (AT&T) in Reading, retiring in 1983, and moved to Ocala, Florida. Through the years she enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses. She was a member of Saint Matthew's Lutheran church in Ocala.

She is survived by her sons, Ed (Alice) Andrews of Petaluma, California; and, Glen Andrews of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She had four grandchildren: Jeff (Sophie) Andrews of Petaluma, CA; Ashley (Chris) Edwards of Melbourne Beach, Florida; Katrina Andrews, and Bronek Andrews of Raleigh, North Carolina; great-granddaughters, Samantha and Sasha Andrews of Petaluma, CA; great-grandsons: Asher, Micah, Jesse, and Shea Edwards of Melbourne Beach, FL. Other surviving relatives are nieces and nephews in the Reading area, and in Ocala and Fort Myers, Florida.

A service will be Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Auman's Inc Funeral Home 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. A Viewing will be Friday 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home. Dolores will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reiffton, Pennsylvania near her parents and other family members. www.aumansinc.com.
