Donald Francis Lauro, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Reading, PA, on October 27, 2026. He was a Navy veteran who served dutifully before being honorably discharged after suffering an injury onboard a ship. In his younger years, Don was a business owner with Armervilla Italian Restaurant and Palmer Cleaners. Later in life, he took great professional pride working for two high schools, Edgemont and Central Catholic.
Don, who was affectionately called “Pop” by many who loved him, was known for his commitment to family, his infectious laugh, his endearing sense of humor, his persistent appetite, and his lighthearted spirit. Above all, Don loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them, especially the time he shared with his grandchildren. The memories they made together brought him tremendous happiness and were among his greatest joys in life.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Arlene Mary Lauro (Spirelli); his son, Donny (Sheri), his daughters, Theresa and Michelle; his grandchildren, Bobby (Lindsey), Christa (Ryan), Jess (Cody), Amy, and Christian; as well as his great-grandchildren, Rizon, Angelina, and Gianna.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in the love, memories and family he leaves behind. He will forever be loved, deeply missed and never forgotten.
Services for Pop to honor his life will be announced soon.
