Dotty was born in Reading on July 29, 1935, a daughter of the late James M. and Annie A. (Haines) Folk. She was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School and was a graduate of Bryland Beauty School. Dotty was a bookkeeper for RA Sands Heating & Plumbing for 11 years, employed at Sharpoint, and lastly employed by Dr Kenneth Kovalsky, of Wyomissing.
Dotty was a 50 year member of Golden Rule Chapter #390 and Reading Chapter #251 Order of Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron in 1976-1977 and 2006-2007. She was treasurer for Golden Rule and served as a star point and substitute organist for Reading Chapter. She was also a member of Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life long member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Reading where she was active in many church activities including church council. She was an avid bowler and made many friends and memories participating in her bowling leagues. She enjoyed traveling on bus trips with her husband, Jerry, creating many great memories. She enjoyed helping babysit her grandchildren. Dotty enjoyed attending all their activities and watching them grow into successful adults. They were her pride and joy.
Surviving is her daughter, Lori-Ann K. McEwen wife of Ross McEwen, Jr., Mohrsville, brother, Donald K. and his wife Margie Folk of Bethel, 3 grandchildren, Jason McEwen, Lauren wife of Andy Ulrich and Kortney wife of Lenny Watson and her trusted furry companion, Bella the cat.
A viewing will be Friday February 6, 2026 at 10:30 AM-12 noon in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, with services to start at 12 noon. An Order of Eastern Star service to start at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow in Pleasantview Cemetery. Donations to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Reading in lieu of flowers.
