Dr. Earle Smith Williamson III, age 44, of Exeter Township, passed away leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family, his friends, his patients, and the community he so faithfully served. He was the husband of Stephanie A. (Reichardt) Williamson. Born in Fairfax, Virginia, he was the son of Rosemary (Wasch) Williamson and the late Earle S. Williamson II.
Earle earned his pre-medical degree at Penn State University, his medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and served his residency at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. As a local family physician at Penn State Health Exeter Ridge, Earle was known not just for his medical expertise, but for the deep empathy and genuine care he extended to every patient who walked through his door. Outside of his practice, Earle was a man of diverse passions who found great joy in the simplicity of life. He loved the outdoors, traveling, and cooking. He also had a fascination with electronics and truly cherished the time spent walking his beloved dogs.
Earle possessed a joyful spirit and an infectious sense of humor. Whether he was sharing jokes or entertaining everyone with his spot-on Rocky Balboa impression, he had an unmatched ability to put a smile on anyone's face. When he wasn't making people laugh, he could be found passionately rooting for his favorite Philadelphia sports teams, rarely missing an opportunity to watch the Eagles or the Phillies. But his greatest joy in life was his long-awaited son “Smitty” who he truly cherished and who will carry on his legacy.
Earle leaves his beautiful memories to be cherished forever by his spouse, Stephanie; his beloved mother, Rosemary; his cherished son, Earle S. Williamson IV; and his loving sister, Jennifer Williamson. His warmth, kindness, and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A service commemorating Earle's life will be held Friday, October 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Auman Funeral Home, 391 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pennsylvania 19606. Interment will follow across the street at 10:00 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pennsylvania 19606.
