Earnestine "Tina" Towles, 75, of Exeter Township, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin and friend. She went on to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2022 after a long courageous battle. Born May 10, 1946 in Opelika, AL, Tina was #8 of 9 children born to the late Robert Lee Haynes and Fannie Lou (Thomas) Haynes.
Tina earned her associates degree from Penn State University. She worked at Western Electric/ AT&T/ Lucent Technologies for 32 years, until her retirement in 1998. Tina also had various vocations throughout her life, including but not limited to: Public Notary, Professional Caterer, Bookkeeping, etc.
Sister Towles was a proud member of Spring Valley Church of God, Temple. There she faithfully and joyfully served in multiple capacities, such as Singing in the choir, Hospitality Committee, Daughters Women’s Ministry, Prayer Blanket Committee, Soup Kitchen Ministry, Prime Timers Group, Brown Bag Ministry, Usher Ministry, Benevolent Ministry, Visitations, Communion Worker, Small Group member for over 17 years and so much more. Tina also offered her love and assistance to any and everyone who found themselves in need. She was always humble, dutiful and generous, without hesitation or request for compensation.
Tina also shared her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels, was a member of Berks Art Council, Pioneers Club at Western Electric, Black History Committee & ABLE through Lucent as well as serving 9 years on the board of the Reading Works Federal Credit Union.
Affectionately known as Teenie, in her spare time, she enjoyed fellowshipping with her family & friends, traveling the world with her husband and inviting along any and everyone who could come. She inspired those who surrounded her, encouraging them with compassion and support. Her love was bountiful, infinite and dedicated to the Lord.
Tina was a loving wife, an amazing mother, doting grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a wonderful friend. She will forever be remembered as a strong and integral pillar supporting her vast family – both immediate and extended. She welcomed everyone into her life with a warm smile and made them all feel like part of the family. If you ever visited her home, you would not have left hungry. She was very proud of her family and loved more than anything to make sure everyone was fed, cared for and knew the love of GOD.
Tina had an everlasting loving and gentle spirit. She was kind and generous and will always be remembered as an example of care, gratitude and grace. She was indeed a virtuous woman and will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Tina's memory will be carried on by her beloved husband of 45 years, James E. Towles; her daughter Sabrina Lee Andrieux and her husband Joseph, of Birdsboro; her son James Towles II and his wife Masumi, of Sinking Spring; her daughter Elizabeth Ann Towles, of Atlanta, GA; her six siblings Annie Stell Ingram, Charlie Haynes, Mary Jean Doleman, William Haynes, Jerrie Davis and Valerie Booth; and three grandchildren Ryan Andrieux, Sarah Andrieux, Miana Towles, Levine Davis, and Raven Aikens. Tina also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and friends to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Tina was greeted in heaven by her 2 brothers Robert and Milton Haynes.
A viewing for Tina will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Rd., Temple, PA 19560. Her homegoing service will promptly commence in the church at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Robert Hinson officiating. The graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
