Esther Leen Loung

Esther Leen "Dub" Loung, (Martin) 94, of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Esther was born September 6, 1927 in Chapin, South Carolina a daughter of the late Mardella Loung and Jacob Davenport. She worked many years at Lynette Candy Factory and was a bartender at the Bubba Bar. Esther also was employed at McKnight Cafe working on the weekends. Esther retired from Berks Visiting Nurse where she worked for quite a few years. Dub was person who kept going after she left Berks Visiting, she started working for the Caum Memorial Lutheran Home. She loved helping to take care of people. When she left the Caum Home, she worked for Senior to Senior for a while until she decided to stop working. Dub was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmom and great great grandmother. Dub leaves behind her daughter Mabel A. Rauch of Reading, her adopted daughter Kelly L. Brown Rauch, her grandchildren; Gerald A. Martin, Lavern Y. Rauch, Richard L. Rauch, Jr., and Denise M. Rauch all of Reading.

She was predeceased in death by her mother, Mardella Loung and her son Benny Martin, her 4 grandchildren; Victoria E. Martin, Darlene M. Rauch, Keefe M. Martin and Jonathan Crawford and sister, Iniece Maddox, brother, Maloy Davenport.

Esther, "Dub" also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she cherished a lot, as well as many family and friends who loved her and will miss her. A viewing will be Friday August 12, 2022 from 9-11am in the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday August 12, 2022 at 11am in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St Reading, PA 19601. Burial to follow in Charles Evans Cemetery.
