He was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Marguerite H. Eich, and by his second wife of 19 years, Miriam Eich. Born in Mt. Carmel, he was the son of the late Fremont and Mabel K. Eich.
Woody served in the United States Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant from 1942 through 1945. After the war, he worked for the Pennsylvania State Employment Agency as a placement specialist for returning WWII veterans. He then became an Institutional Sales Representative at General Foods Corporation for 33 years before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Eich is survived by his sons, Robert A. Eich, husband of Kathleen Eich of Harrisburg, PA, and by Randall S. Eich, husband of Constance Eich of Fleetwood, PA. He is also survived by two grandsons: Christopher Eich of Harrisburg, PA, and Christian D. Yarosz of Reading, PA. In addition, he is survived by his sister Virginia K. Pellegrini, wife of Aldo Pellegrini of Wilmington, DE. The Eich family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at the Highlands of Wyomissing for their care and support while in residence.
Services will be Saturday May 24, 2014 at 11:30am in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
