Forrest "Frosty" Paul Stine

Forrest “Frosty” Paul Stine, 94, of Mohnton, PA, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home. Born in Reading on August 8, 1931, Forrest was the son of the late Marvin “Mike” E. Hamburg and Hilda M. (Kramlich) Hamburg. In addition to his parents, he was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife of 71 years, Nancy R. (Goodman) Stine, and his two sisters, Pauline Macczak and Betty Walb.

Forrest was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1950. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy on January 1, 1951, proudly serving during the Korean Conflict. It was during this time that a little bit of courage and a blind date would change the course of his life forever. Forrest said yes to a date arranged by friends with Nancy Goodman, and he quickly knew he had found the one. The two were married on January 2, 1954, and after Forrest’s honorable discharge from the Navy in October of that year, they began building a life together that would span more than seven decades.

Upon returning to civilian life, Forrest began a long and fulfilling career as a pressman with Standard Offset Printing, where he dedicated more than 40 years of hard work and craftsmanship before retiring at the age of 65.

Faith was the foundation of Forrest’s life. He was a devoted member of Zion Mennonite Church in Birdsboro, where he and Nancy worshiped together for more than 50 years. During that time, Forrest served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher, sharing not only his knowledge but also his love for the Lord with those around him. He also served on the board and as president of the Reading Bible Institute, served on the board of Fivepointville Bible Conference, and was actively involved with Freedom Gate Ministries, a Christ-centered halfway house for men returning from prison. Forrest’s heart for service also extended to the Boy Scouts of America, where he was actively involved during his son Michael’s scouting years.

One of Forrest’s proudest accomplishments was building the family home where he and Nancy raised their children. Over the course of four years, working nights and weekends, Forrest built the home by hand. While he worked, he often heard the gospel broadcast over a loudspeaker from the barn church at Woodland Park Bible Conference, and during that time, his heart was drawn closer to the Lord. His faith became one of the greatest gifts he passed down to his family.

That home represented more than wood and walls. It represented love, stability, and the promise he wanted to give his growing family. Having moved frequently as a child, Forrest was determined to create a place where his own family could always feel rooted.

Forrest had a true craftsman’s heart and found great joy in woodworking. Over the years, he created beautiful dry sinks, furniture, and special pieces that became treasured keepsakes for family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, panning for gold, traveling out West and to Long Island, and gathering loved ones together for holidays and birthdays. Forrest especially looked forward to the annual Thanksgiving men’s breakfast on “The Land,” a tradition filled with fellowship and countless memories.

Those who knew Forrest will remember his steady presence, strong work ethic, love for his family, and unwavering faith. He leaves behind a legacy built not only with his hands, but with his heart, a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue through generations.

Forrest’s legacy will continue through his four children: Michael Stine (Molly), Bonnie DeSensi (Fran), Kelly Stine, and Tracy Stine; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his memory with them always.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Zion Mennonite Church, 582 Zion Road, Birdsboro. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Steve Campbell officiating.

A graveside committal service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Those attending the committal service are kindly asked to meet at the cemetery entrance by 2:20 p.m.
