

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 15, 1955, he was a son of the late George W., Sr. and Patricia A. (Burns) Kratsas.
George was employed with the County of Berks as a Procurement Manager at the Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for twenty years. In recent years he enjoyed working part time as a Gatekeeper at FirstEnergy Stadium where he was known as “K-Man” and at Santander Arena as an usher. Early in his life he was employed with the family owned McDonald’s. He was a member of the Lion’s Club in Schuylkill County.
George was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, boating and swimming. As of late, he enjoyed camping at Lake In Wood Resort. George’s adventurous spirit was evident in the travels he and Peggy enjoyed together. He will always be remembered for his bright smile and sense of humor. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife, Peggy, George is survived by four children, Patricia A. (Kratsas) Shenk and her husband, Keith of Exeter Twp., Kristoffer M. Kratsas and his husband, Victor Phantumvanit of Boston, MA, Zachary G. Kratsas and his wife, Sarah of Exeter Twp. and Lindsay A. Kratsas of Exeter Twp.; four grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Josephine and Nora; and mother in law, Cecelia H. (Lipinsky) Weiss of Pottsville.
George is predeceased by his parents, George and Patricia; a brother, William G. Kratsas and father in law, Robert F. Weiss.
Services for George will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11am in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday evening, August 12, 2016 from 6 to 8pm and again on Saturday morning from 10 to 11am.
