George C. Ramsey Jr

Born in Birdsboro on January 14, 1942, Red was a son of the late George C., Sr. and Ruth (Doll) Ramsey.

He was employed by George E. Snyder Contractors for 29 years, retiring in 2000. He was also a US Army Veteran and a member of the PA National Guard for 30 years. He was last employed at CarQuest Auto Parts as a driver, last working in 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley M. (Gates) Ramsey; daughters: Paula L. Trabosh, Lisa M. Wiseman and Debra L. Pfenning.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brittany, Carissa, Casey, Savannah, Samantha, and Eric; two great grandchildren, Adalynn and Ethan; two brothers, Richard and Gene Ramsey and a sister, Cheryl Shuker and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 8:00pm on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00pm Thursday night at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
