George Ray Schutt, 79, of Bernville Pa died March 18, 2021 in his home. He was born on July 5, 1941 in West Reading, PA to Allen and Anastacia (Kulchinsky) Schutt. He is predeceased by his sister Sara R Sterling. He is survived by three sons; John Schutt of Delaware, Jeffrey Schutt of Florida, and James Schutt of Pennsylvania and a daughter Anastacia Schutt of Pennsylvania. One sister Ella R Schutt of Florida, 8 grandchildren; Ashley, Brad, Kellie, Alissa, Abigail, David, Carter and Kristy, 4 great grandchildren; Emma, Brynn, George and Ellie.
George was a hard- working, loving, supportive family man. He dedicated his life to his family and community and his work. He was employed at Met-Ed for 25 years working through the Three Mile Island nuclear crisis, began working in his family-owned paint shop as a young man and continued through his life owning and operating a successful business. After retiring from Met-Ed, he was employed at Rittenhouse for 15 years. Final retirement in 2019.
George will be deeply missed by his surviving wife, Dawn A. Schutt , of 61 years. High school sweethearts married in 1960. He was a 1959 Reading High School graduate and attended Albright College. His likes included spending quality time at the shore with his family, boating, fishing, Nascar and dirt track races, golfing, bowling and camping. He lived and taught love and hard work through example and those he touched will carry those things with them always.
Memorial Services will be Friday March 26, 2021 at 11am in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Inurnment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A memorial gathering will be Friday 10-11am in the funeral home. www.aumansinc.com
