Completely shocked when I called the bakery there was no answer that day, later I spoke with family and they told me why. Oh how we shall all miss you and your kind friendly ways Giuseppe "Joey" Bruno. You exemplified the way that all bakeries should be!
The old fashioned bakeries of yesteryear are disappearing fast, yet you hung in there for everyone! 
Where do I begin folks, this man made Wedding Cakes for my family, Birthday, Anniversary, EVERY Holy Day, every Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, would not be complete without a call to Joey at the shop. I give these cakes to customers to promote the shop because he was such a nice guy and such delicious food! It was unforgettable! Just like you Joey!
Unforgettable. I will never forget all the kindness your family has bestowed on me over the years for all of these events.

What a special and delightful man! I had the good fortune of meeting him this year by sheer luck, dropping by the bakery. He was so transparent, and engaging. After sharing I was trying to learn Italian, he advised studying the sound of the letters, phonetically, just like when learning English, was the best way. He knew from experience as a teacher. I loved his rum cakes and cannolis's. Today I shed tears, as I learned of his passing. I will miss my dear friend, my lovely, kind baker and teacher. To the family, may God bless and keep you. Giuseppe is resting now but he is not far away, he is within your hearts and in your thoughts.

I only knew Joe as a customer but was always impressed with his spirit and work ethic, and pastries! Best cannoli in the world. Peace to Rose and all of the Bruno family; Rest in Peace & Grace Joe.

My husband Angelo introduced me to the French Italian Bakery & Giuseppe's Cannoli's. Some people have Birthday Cake, I have Cannoli's.  
Through my entire life the 'Cannoli' was and is my favorite desert. As a small child till this day no matter where I traveled I tried the locals version. Never to find a Cannoli better then those made by Giuseppe, The Italian Baker. His touch to these wonderful delights will be missed.

Our sincerest condolences to his family. We are so saddened by his passing. This past year we had returned to get cakes done by him for family events. He made the best cakes! He was very  friendly and sweet. We pray the Lord gives his family strength, comfort and peace. A great loss to our city!

Our deepest condolences. He was truly an amazing man, when we would have to go into the bakery for anything he was also so sweet, nice and friendly. Remember one time I came to buy a cake and he was messing around with my baby girl and she was laughing like crazy. He was truly an amazing man that will be missed dearly by many. So sorry to read about the passing of Joe. I got to know him when he was a kid and worked at the Italian Bakery and I worked at the market stand.He was a hard worker. I would sometimes give him motherly advice. Whenever I would run into him we were always happy to see each other. He will always be with you in your hearts. Blessings to all!
