Gloria Ann Potts, 87, of Exeter Township, affectionately known to family and friends as “Honey Girl,” entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Reading, PA on August 25, 1938, she was a daughter to the late Arthur Theodore Jerome Folk and Viola Loretta Killian.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charlie Potts; her sisters, Caroline “Toot” Ermold, Patricia “Tucker” Stoudt, and Lorraine “Deanna” Bickel; and her beloved cats, Tinx, Shalee, Cinstinna, and Buster.
For many years, Gloria worked as an assistant to the Budget Director for the County of Berks, but her most important job was being the heartbeat of her home. She was the kind of wife and mother who never missed a moment, never missed a car show, never missed her kids cross country or track meets, and somehow managed to keep the house filled with warmth and love.
A creative soul, Gloria filled her world with art. She sculpted, sketched fashion designs, and approached life itself as her canvas; always adding color, charm, and laughter wherever she went. She enjoyed piecing together puzzles, getting lost in the pages of a good book and a quick trip to the casinos to play the slot machines. Gloria spoiled the neighborhood hummingbirds and Blue Jays with treats, loved animals with her whole heart, and beamed with pride in her Native American heritage, holding a special admiration for the strength and symbolism of the bald eagle. Nature was her happy place, especially when she was in the mountains.
Gloria was loving, gentle and kind, often smiling and giggling in a way that made everyone around her feel lighter. The world feels a little less colorful without her vibrant spirit, her giggles, and the warmth she shared with everyone lucky enough to have known her.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Honey Girl, knowing that your sweetness and light will never be forgotten.
Gloria's spirit will be carried on by her son, Guy A. Potts, and her daughter, Denyne J. Tolley, wife of Jason. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Folk, and his wife, Stacey; her sister, Janet “Pat” Kratzer; and five grandchildren: Alexander, Bryce, and Cameron Potts, and Lucas and Lillian Tolley.
