Jack Leon Stover, 89, of Cumru Township entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Born in Reading on December 21, 1935, Jack was the son of the late Paul and Marietta (Stoudt) Stover. In addition to his parents, he was reunited with his sweetheart of 65 years, Dolores Irene (Pergola) Stover, who passed in March of 2024.
Jack spent much of his career in food service, working as a produce manager with Food Fair and Pantry Pride before retiring as bakery manager at Renders. Known for his strong work ethic, Jack took pride in showing up,whether it was an ordinary day or the Blizzard of ’96.
A true craftsman, Jack loved working with wood and building things with his hands. Sports were a constant thread throughout his life. He once played minor league baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed years of golfing and bowling, hit the slopes skiing alongside Dolores, and had fun in a good old-fashioned softball beer league. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, he also encouraged his sons to embrace athletics, passing on his love of the game.
Though Jack was a quiet man, his presence spoke volumes. He believed actions carried more weight than words. Honest to the core, guided by common sense, and unafraid to wear his heart on his sleeve, he lived a life marked by integrity, devotion, and grit.
Jack’s legacy continues through his sons, Scott L. Stover (Rita), Jay L. Stover (Jennifer), and David P. Stover (Tracey); his brother, Terry Stover (Carol); seven grandchildren, Stacey Powell (Joshua), Jeremy Stover (Stacy), Heather Mast (Seth), Holly Visgarda (Zak), Ashley Stover, Jason Stover, and Noah Stover; and five great-grandchildren, Harper Powell, Hudson Powell, Kinsley Stover, Payton Stover, and Greyson Mast; with one more on the way to carry his spirit forward.
