James Lewis Thomas, Jr.

James L. Thomas Jr., 56, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of Barbara Thomas. Born in Reading, he was the son of Mary (Boles) Thomas of Charlotte, N.C. and the late James Thomas Sr.

Jim was employed for 20+ years with the Department of Public Welfare. He was a 1977 graduate of Reading High School and a Marine Corps veteran.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Sheree Wilder, Isiah Thomas, James Thomas and Mia Thomas, all of Reading. Also his siblings: Anthony Thomas and Jean Erb, both of Reading; Andrew Thomas of Shelby, N.C.; and Tracey Trusdale of Mohrsville. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren.

Services will be held in Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Road, Temple, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family may view on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa., will be announced at a later date.
