

Jan L. Hahn-Rightmyer, 54, went to be with her Lord peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She fought a yearlong determined battle against brain cancer. Jan was the loving wife of Rodney E. Rightmyer. The couple married in Reading on September 22, 1990.
Born in Allentown on January 4, 1961, Jan was a daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Jean L. (Bitler) Hahn. She was a graduate of William Allen High School and Kutztown University.
Jan loved to help people and she channeled that in the work she did. She was a certified pharmacy technician, a certified massage therapist, a camp counselor of the Great Valley Girl Scouts and a social worker with Spruce Pavilion at the Reading Hospital.
She was an avid, devoted runner and was a member of the Pagoda Pacers Running Club. She completed many marathons, triathlons and mentored others to motivate them into running.
In addition to her husband, Rod; Jan is survived by Katie O’Malley, her Jack Russell Terrier; a stepson, Mark E. Rightmyer of Reading, a step grandson, Cory Rightmyer of Hyde Park; two brothers, Randy Kacsur and his wife, Janice of Emmaus and Chris Kacsur and his wife, Connie of Albertus; a sister, Connie Barbarics of Allentown; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Also surviving is a step daughter in law, Virginia Rightmyer.
She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, Michael Kacsur and two step sons, Eric D. and Steven P. Rightmyer.
Services for Jan will be announced at a later date. Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with the arrangements.
“Run Hard, Play Harder!” was her credo.
