Jermaine was born in Reading on October 27, 1972, a son of Luvina Bernice (Holmes) Hopkins and the late Leroy Joseph Hopkins. He was a Reading High School graduate where he was on the basketball and football teams and track and long jump in Reading Jr. High School. Iceman was a BIG Eagles fan and tight with the 6th Ward Crew, forming many lifelong bonds. Jermaine worked with unmatched dedication so that he could explore the world with absolute freedom. Jermaine was employed by Abraxas Academy as a youth development ops leader mentoring young men for the last 3 years.
He also leaves to cherish in his memory, his 3 children: Jazmine Rivera, Janeesah Holmes and Micah Holmes, his 4 brothers; Leroy Hopkins, Leonard Holmes, Bernard Holmes and Keith Holmes and sister, Veronica Hopkins, granddaughter, Lyric Mcgee, Elke's children; Isaiah and Jeremiah Smith, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Also survived by his Godchildren; Jari Lynn, Erica, Nicole and Charlette. Jermaine was predeceased by his brother, David Holmes, grandparents; Coley Gilliams, Arelia Gilliams, Albert and Lena Holmes and uncle Rev. Willis Brown.
