

She was the loving wife of Eastman "Rawhide" J. Weaver Sr. The couple celebrated 57 years of marriage on June 29th this year.
Born in Reading on July 16, 1935, Joan was a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Haas) Quaintance.
Joan was a waitress for 40 years and also worked at Godiva Chocolates for 14 years as a candy packer before retiring.
Joan and her husband, Rawhide, liked to travel and have seen 49 States. She also liked to have a good time with her husband and friends. She was liked by all. She was the best wife and mother that a person could ever dream of.
Joan was a member of the Birdsboro VFW and was on the Ladies Auxiliary Club Post 411.
In addition to Rawhide, Joan is survived by three children: Eastman "East" J. Weaver Jr. of Birdsboro; Justine "Tina" Sabanos and her husband, Anthony "Tony" of Sinking Spring; and Holly Pelen and her husband, Jim of Pottsville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Robert Quaintance of Stony Creek. She is predeceased by a sister, Joyce Ferrara, and a brother, Harold "Sonny" Quaintance.
A memorial service for Joan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow the service in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
