

Joseph Ralph Pietrobone, Sr., 84, of Reading, formerly of Mohnton, passed away peacefully in the Reading Hospital on Monday, September 26, 2016. He was the husband of the late Bernice M. (Podguski) Pietrobone.
Born in Reading on May 4, 1932, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Guisto) Pietrobone. He was employed with the former Teledyne-AMCO in Mohnton and the Garden State Tanning in Fleetwood.
Joe enjoyed watching a boxing match, going to Vegas with his daughter and playing Pinochle or BINGO. He loved watching football. When he was younger, he liked fishing with his son.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph R. Pietrobone, Jr. of Kutztown and Jason E. Pietrobone of Mohnton; three daughters, Joanne B. (Pietrobone) Spanier and her husband, John J. of West Lawn, Mary A. (Pietrobone) Zeigenfuse of Sinking Spring and Stephanie (Pietrobone) Manning and her husband, George of Mohnton; six grandchildren, Holly, Justin, Jennifer, Joseph III, April and Lydia; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph “Skip” Pietrobone of Mohnton and Joe’s much loved cats, Shadow, Amelia and Squeaky.
He is predeceased by a brother, James Pietrobone; two sisters, Concetta (Pietrobone) Oxenreider and Carmella “Dolly” (Pietrobone) Roth and his companion of 14 years, Joan Engle.
Family and friends will be received in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601 on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 12 to 1pm. Joe will be laid to rest in Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading.
