Linda Marie (Banks) Stoudt, 77, of Reading, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 5, 2026. A lifelong Reading native, Linda was born on June 6, 1949, to the late William and Erma (Krall) Banks.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, William Banks and Ronald Banks, and her beloved husband, William I. Stoudt Sr.
Linda spent most of her life as a devoted homemaker, raising her family and, along the way, becoming everyone’s mom. She had a natural gift for making people feel cared for and loved. Once her children were grown, Linda began working as a crossing guard with the Reading School District and later as a bus aide with BCIU, from which she retired.
If there was one thing Linda did best, it was taking care of her tribe. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family fiercely. She never seemed to run out of advice, opinions, or sarcastic commentary—and her family wouldn’t have wanted her any other way. Her love and compassion extended to her pets as well. Linda had a lifelong love of animals and treasured every pet that found its way into her home.
Linda enjoyed puzzle boards and word searches, and the Sci-Fi Channel was practically a permanent fixture on her television. She proudly earned the nickname “Duct Tape Queen,” proving time and time again that with enough duct tape, almost anything could be fixed.
Linda was nurturing, down-to-earth, warm, and comically sarcastic. She found joy in the simple things and had a genuine, caring nature that made the people around her feel loved and appreciated. She had a generous heart, a quick wit, and a special way of bringing comfort and laughter to those she loved. Even when her affection came with a little sarcasm, there was never any doubt that it came from a place of love.
Linda’s memory and spirit will live on through her brother, Michael Banks; and her children, John Dundore and his wife, Desiree; Lynn Allen and her husband, James; Mary Sheidy and her husband, Michael; Jennifer Duley and her husband, Ryan; Michael Stoudt and his wife, Betzaida; Richard Stoudt and his significant other, Shay Lugo; William I. Stoudt Jr. and his wife, Lori. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry their own special memories of “Mom Mom” and the love she gave so freely.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, there will be no scheduled services.
Please feel free to send their family your condolences.
