Luis Alberto Cepeda, 73, of Reading, PA passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Reading Hospital - Tower Health. Born November 10, 1948 in Santiago, Dominican Republic he was a son to the late Benigno Cepeda Nuñez and Maria Cristina Cartagena Cepeda.
There truly wasn’t anything that Luis couldn’t do, he was artistic, creative, and very handy. In his spare time, he loved listening to music, dancing, playing slots at the casino, playing dominoes and in his younger years he relished in playing baseball and softball in leagues.
Luis was an extremely hard worker, dedicated and determined to provide for his family. He held several vocations through out his life, including but not limited to: a sports shoe and sandal maker for Patio Shoe Factory; a building superintendent for 14 years ,until his retirement in 2001. Post retirement, Luis (who was never one to sit still) quickly found himself supporting his daughter Johanny's successful restaurant 'Mi Casa Su Casa' as a lead chef. His hard work and amazing cooking skills were a large part of the success of the business and he made many friendships in the community through 'Mi Casa Su Casa'. He will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Luis is survived by his 2 daughters Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz and her husband Felix and Ana Josalina Cepeda; his ex-wife, Ana Cepeda; his 4 brothers Rafael Cepeda, Pedro Cepeda, Hector Cepeda, Justo Cepeda, his 2 sisters Euladina Mercedes "Lila" Cepeda and Reina Cepeda. Luis also leaves behind his 2 grandchildren Enith Milanny Munroe and Elias Messiah Munroe and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Luis was preceded in death by his 2 brothers Juan Jose "Che" Cepeda, Jesus "Chulo" Cepeda; his 2 sisters Elvia Cepeda and Ana "Coloma" Cepeda.
A viewing for Luis will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601. A secondary viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will immediately follow occur Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with Apóstol Emilio Mendez officiating.

Luis Alberto Cepeda, 73 años, de Reading, PA falleció el sábado 2 de julio de 2022 en Reading Hospital - Tower Health. Nacio el 10 de noviembre de 1948 en Santiago, República Dominicana, fue hijo del difunto Benigno Cepeda Nuñez y María Cristina Cartagena Cepeda.
Realmente no había nada que Luis no pudiera hacer, el fue artístico, creativo y muy práctico. En su tiempo libre, le encantaba escuchar música, bailar, jugar tragamonedas en el casino, jugar dominó y en su juventud le gustaba jugar béisbol y softbol en las ligas.
Luis fue un gran trabajador, dedicado y decidido a mantener a su familia. Tuvo varias vocaciones a lo largo de su vida, que incluyen, entre otras: fabricante de zapatos deportivo y sandalias para Patio Shoe Factory; superintendente de edificio por 14 años, hasta su el retiro en 2001. Después de su jel retiro, Luis (que nunca se quedó quieto) rápidamente se encontró apoyando al exitoso restaurante de su hija Johanny 'Mi Casa Su Casa' como chef principal. Su arduo trabajo y sus increíbles habilidades culinarias fueron una gran parte del éxito del negocio y hizo muchas amistades en la comunidad a través de 'Mi Casa Su Casa'. Todos los que tuvieron la suerte de haberlo conocido lo extrañarán mucho.
A Luis le sobreviven sus 2 hijas Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz y su esposo Félix y Ana Josalina Cepeda; su ex esposa, Ana Cepeda; sus 4 hermanos Rafael Cepeda, Pedro Cepeda, Hector Cepeda, Justo Cepeda, sus 2 hermanas Euladina Mercedes "Lila" Cepeda y Reina Cepeda. Luis también deja atrás a sus 2 nietos Enith Milanny Munroe y Elias Messiah Munroe y varias sobrinas y sobrinos para atesorar su memoria.
Además de sus padres, Luis le precedieron en la muerte sus 2 hermanos Juan José "Che" Cepeda, Jesús "Chulo" Cepeda; sus 2 hermanas Elvia Cepeda y Ana "Coloma" Cepeda.
El velorio de Luis ocurrira el viernes 15 de julio de 2022 de 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. en Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601. Un velorio secundario en la funeraria el sábado 16 de julio de 2022 de 10:00 a 11:00. Inmediatamente seguirá el servicio funerario el sábado 16 de julio de 2022 a las 11:00 AM, oficiando Apóstol Emilio Méndez.
