Lynn Forrest Boyer, 93, of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann "Peggy" Boyer on March 24, 2024. He was born in Cross Keys, PA on March 18, 1932 a son of the late Clayton and Alta (Patterson) Boyer.
Lynn served his country during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the Air Force. He was employed by Western Electric/AT&T as an electrical engineer retiring in 1987. There he developed several patents and worked on developing the picture phone. Lynn and his wife owned the PA Dutch Inn & Trailer Park from 1977-2025 where he would entertain the guests by playing the boomba and the harmonica. Lynn was a former Muhlenberg Township Commissioner. He learned to speak PA Dutch by taking a class at Kutztown State College and he put the language to use by talking to anyone he could. Lynn had his auctioneer license and also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Surviving is are his 2 daughters, Robin L. Boyer and her fiance', Martin Algar and Susan E. and her husband James Oswald, his brother, Leon Boyer, 6 grandchildren, Robert Danner, Russ Danner, Rebecca Reese, Rachael Baker, Meryn Schneiderhan and Jimmy Oswald and 9 great grandchildren and his loyal dog, Millie.
Lynn was predeceased by his siblings, Clayton Boyer, William "Bill" Boyer, Dale Boyer, Lee Boyer, Raymond Boyer, Terry Boyer, Thelma Gattone and Dolly Goodwin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
Services will be Friday September 19, 2025, at 11 AM in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd Reiffton. Burial to follow In Forest Hills Memorial Park.
