Maria Ann Hassler

Maria was born in Reading on September 28, 1953, a daughter of the late Raymond C. and Mildred G. (Wagoner) Chelius. Maria was employed by Thomas's Restaurant and Riveredge Restaurant as a breakfast cook. She was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church and was the "Block MOM" for S. 9th Street families. Maria was a maker and true believer of holistic remedies and she was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Surviving are her 3 children, Elisha Rae Kunkle, Marissa Hassler and James R. Hassler, her 4 siblings, Debbie and her husband Robert Mellinger, Richard B. and his wife Shelley Chelius, Yvonne and her husband Richard Williams, Dennis J. and his wife Sharon Chelius, sister-in-law, Judith Chelius, 5 grandchildren, Camron Brown, Alexis Grove, Rilya Gearhart, Jamerson Gearhart and Phalon Hassler.

Maria was predeceased by her brother, Raymond T. Chelius.

As Maria would say, "Fly Eagles Fly! Go Birds!"

A visitation for Maria will be Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Auman's Inc., 390 W. Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606. Services will be Thursday September 18, 2025 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
