Mary Matilda Herb Spatz

Born in Hegins, PA on April 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Dora E. (Fisher) Herb.

Mary was employed for 37 ½ years by the Berkshire Knitting Mills. She worked 6 ½ years at the Reading Hospital.

Mary was an avid bowler who bowled on several leagues. She was a member of the Shillington Friends of the Reading Hospital for many years. She graduated from Reading Senior High in 1939.

Mary was a faithful member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leesport.

Surviving are Mary’s nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Richard; Mary is predeceased by two brothers, Leroy Herb, Sr. and Glen Herb and a sister, Helen J. Miller. Mary was the last of her immediate family.

A funeral service for Mary will be in her home church, Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, 820 W. Leesport Rd., Leesport on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00am. A visitation will be in the church Saturday from 10 to 11:00am. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Theo C. Auman Funeral HOme, 247 Penn St., Reading.
