Miriam Christine (Beck) Zimmer, 86, of Berwyn, PA entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 18,1936, she was a cherished daughter to the late Ernest A. Beck and Dorothy (Rucker) Beck.
Miriam was a graduate of West Catholic High School, where she played varsity basketball.
She was the proud owner and operator of the "Pet and Aqua Center-Zimmerweg Kennels Inc." for 24 years; working alongside her husband Albert, until their retirement in 1996. Miriam then joined her oldest son Stephen, working with his company Emperor Aquatics Inc., until 2014. After 2014 Miriam volunteered her time at the retreat house at St. Raphaela Center. She was a devout Catholic whose faith was unwavering. Faith and family were her top priorities and she made sure to instill a love of faith and a devotion in her family.
Miriam was a compassionate and giving person who understood the goodness of forgiveness. Miriam enjoyed watching sports of all kinds with the Sixers and Eagles being her favorites and she often spent her summers in Sea Isle City, NJ. Miriam enjoyed traveling with her late husband Al and their many lifelong friends. Miriam cherished her grandchildren and the summer vacations spent in Sea Isle with them. She will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
Miriam's spirit will be carried on by her 4 sons Stephen Zimmer and his wife Cathy, of Mohnton, PA, Michael Zimmer and his wife Dawn, of Pine Grove, PA, Christopher Zimmer, of Mountville, PA and Albert Zimmer III and Neil Grieves, of Delaware; 3 brothers, Ernest Beck and his wife Betty, John Beck and his wife Phyllis and Jim Beck and his wife Beth. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren Katie Nush and her husband Andrew, Elizabeth Anderson and her husband Tyler and Mike Zimmer; and 4 great grandchildren Ellie Nush, Mollie Nush, Rylee Anderson and Adelynn Anderson to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Miriam was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Albert E. Zimmer Jr. and sister Sr. Dorothy Beck acj.
Miriam's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all that have shown love, friendship, support and kindness during this very difficult time.
A mass of Christian burial for Miriam will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Raphaela Center, 616 Coopertown Rd., Haverford, PA 19041. Graveside committal will occur Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.(PLEASE MEET AT CEMETERY ENTRANCE AT 11:45 AM)
