Nancy Lyn (Steiger) Dietrich, age 57, of Reading, entered eternal rest Saturday, May 23, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born September 6, 1962 in Reading, to Jan D. Steiger Sr. and the late Donna M. (Croston) Steiger.
Nancy was a 1980 graduate of Reading High School and worked as a cook for 25 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital cafeteria.
Nancy could be best described as woman with a big heart who truly loved animals of all types. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for family and friends. Nancy was an avid sports fan; she loved the Philadelphia Eagles, enjoyed attending the Reading Royals hockey games and was unbelievably proud of former Reading High School basketball star, Lonnie Walker.
A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart too big to describe, Nancy’s kindness, wit, and truly compassionate nature, touched all blessed enough to know her. Even in the toughest of times, Nancy would look a struggle head-on, shrug, and conclude "It is what it is."
Nancy’s spirit will be carried on by her husband of 39 years, William Thomas Dietrich; father Jan D. Steiger Sr.; sister Janelle D. Dietrich and her husband Paul, of Mohrsville; brother Jan D. Steiger Jr., of Lancaster; Son-in-law Devon Williams and his wife Nicole; 4 grandchildren Sophia Williams, Bryan Vargas, Jaciel Vargas and Angela Velazquez. Nancy also leaves behind a host of brother -in-laws, sister-in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, neighbors, co-workers and many life-long friends.
In addition to her mother Donna, Nancy was greeted in heaven by her sister Robin Ann Steiger and 2 daughters Jana Pauline and Billie Jo Dietrich.
