Mr. Neil Alan Phillips

He is the husband of Mary Ann (Arndt) Phillips.

He is the son of the late Arthur H. and Ilse (Schladitz) Phillips.

He was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1954, and later graduated from Lehigh University in 1958 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, gaining his PE License 5 years later. In 1972 he added certification in Nuclear Engineering from the Penn State Management Development School.

He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Gilbert Commonwealth, Inc. for over 38 years until his retirement, and later did additional consulting work for the company. He was a Life member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

Neil was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, 2901 Curtis Rd., Reading (formerly West Lawn), PA 19609, for over 50 years.

He loved fishing and fishing shows on television.

Surviving Family; SONS: Neil A., husband of Brenda B. Phillips of Centerport, PA, Craig A., husband of Deborah A. Phillips of Ashburn, VA, Brian E., husband of Kathy L. Phillips of Durham, NC, Jeffrey M., husband of Suzanne M. Phillips of Laureldale, PA, and Todd H. Phillips, husband of Rose Phillips of East Earl, PA; GRANDCHILDREN: Andrew, Evan, Cassandra, Alex, Caroline, Marrisa, Lauren, Nathan and Deanna.

Neil is predeceased by his daughter Lee Ann Phillips who passed away in 1962.

SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at St. Peter's UCC, FRIDAY, APRIL 22, 2011. Friends and Family may visit at the church from 6:00 to 7:00 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

CONTRIBUTIONS: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Neil's name to St. Peter's UCC, 2901 Curtis Rd., Reading, PA 19609.
