Nilsa “Ela” Rosario, 73, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Tower Health - Reading Hospital. Born November 4, 1947 in Caguas, Puerto Rico she was the cherished daughter to the late Justo and Paula (Torres) Osorio.
Nilsa was a devoted wife, mother, and phenomenal cook. She lived her life solely for her family, whose wellbeing she prayed for each and every day. Nilsa was very passionate about many things. Watching novelas and cooking for others were always her favorite. From the 30+ person Thanksgiving meal that she cooked out of her little kitchen to the simple sit down Sunday meal, they were all amazing. Nicknamed “Ela” short for abuela by her first grandchild she wore the title proudly and became Ela to the entire neighborhood. She was a well-respected neighbor who often counseled, fed and prayed for neighbors young and old. She was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic church and was devoted to praying the Holy Rosary daily.
Nilsa's spirit will be carried on by her beloved husband of 41 years, Ruder Rosario; sister Nereida Osorio; her 4 adult children Aixsa Diaz, Jacqueline Diaz, Nelson Diaz, and Cindy Diaz. Nilsa also leaves behind 9 grandchildren Stephanie Perez - Jarmul, Jessica Perez, Joshua Perez, Nelson Diaz Jr., Justin Rodriguez, Leticia Hafer, Alyssa Martinez, Tyrone Luzane Jr., Maritza Garcia and 15 great - grandchildren to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Nilsa was greeted in heaven by her siblings Maria Mercedes Rivera, Juan Osorio and Jose Osorio, her daughter Maritza Diaz and grandson Christopher Nelson Diaz.
A viewing for Nilsa will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Auman’s Inc., 390 W. Neversink Rd, Reiffton, PA 19606. Funeral service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:00 PM, with Monsignor Thomas J. Orsulak officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
