

Norma was born in Reading the daughter of the late Clarence and Beulah F. (Coleman) Coad. She was the first of her siblings to graduate with an associate degree, then earned her LPN and worked as a nurse at St Joseph’s Hospital. She retired from a successful career at Lucent Technology working in a variety of positions. Mrs. Symington joyfully shared her faith and love of the Lord with others throughout her life's journey.
Norma loved children and serving others. She cared for numerous foster children over the years and taught catechism classes. She sang in church choirs and volunteered in various service and political organizations. Norma enjoyed traveling and sharing her joy, generosity and love with friends and family. She was a member of St. John De La Salle Prime Timers, the Elks, the Double Knots, and the American Legion.
She leaves cherished memories with her son Nelson Davies and his wife Josephine, their children, Jacqueline King and Harrison Davies, her daughter Adria Davies and her children, Andre M. Symington and Aryana Harwell, her son, Allan Coad, his spouse and his children Erika, Melissa, Christian, and Tara (predeceased) along with 16 great grandchildren and her longtime companion, John Mapp.
Norma was met in heaven by her siblings; Frances Waters, Sandrea Johnson, Clarence G. Coad, Jr and Lorraine Franklin.
