Born on September 23, 1944 in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Pelmer (Wall) and Nathan Mooney.
Ruth was employed first as a sewing machine operator then was promoted to floor manager with Rachman's of Reading for over ten years before leaving to be a homemaker, caring for her family.
Although Ruth enjoyed cooking, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Left behind to cherish her memory are three sons: Mark Nathan Mooney of Philadelphia, Jonathan Stevens Dunn of Reading, James Eugene Shouse, Jr. of Wernersville; a daughter, Melissa Dunn and her husband, Timothy Washington of Philadelphia; a brother, Madison Mooney and his wife, Charlotte M. Roberts of Sinking Spring and a sister, Julia (Mooney) Jenkins and her husband, Rodger of Glendale, MD.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her spouse, James Eugene Shouse; father, Nathan Mooney and mother Pelmer (Wall) Mooney; brother, Nathan Mooney; brother, Peter Brown; sister, Josie Willis and sister, Sonja LaSane.
Services for Ruth are private and at the convenience of the family. Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with the arrangements.
