

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on Aug. 5, 1944, a daughter of the late Thomas Nelson and Agnes (Bowen) Hammond.
Patricia was a member of St. James Chapel Church of God in Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle, wife of Charles Gilliam, of Reading; and four sons: Michael K., husband of Nubia Bowen, of Sicklersville, NJ, Marshall K. Bowen of Emmaus, Mar-lon K. Bowen and Marlowe K. Bowen, both of Reading.
There are three brothers: William A. Hammond of Elkins Park, Bernard K., husband of Cheryl Hammond, of Hamburg, and Tommie Hampton of Reading.
Patricia has three sisters: Maxine L., wife of William Smith, of Exeter Township, Karen, wife of James Bowers, and Tanya, wife of Benjamin Kama, all of West Reading; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Diane Ali and Barbara Hammond.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in St. James Chapel Church of God in Christ, 11 S. 9th Street, Reading at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
