Percy was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served our country during the Korean War Conflict. During his service he was stationed in Greece, where he learned a little of their language. He loved being able to communicate with the local restaurant managers.
Upon returning to civilian life, Percy worked as a local cab driver and as an ice cream truck driver for several years. He eventually became the proud owner of his hot dog and soft drink stand. Percy looked forward to serving the community his Hotdogs on the corner of 3rd and Penn street. Many in the community knew Percy as the “Hot Dog Man,” a role that gave him immense joy.
Percy was a proud Deacon and faithful member of Zion Baptist Church of Reading.
Percy's spirit will be carried on by his beloved wife of 64 years, Alverias (Chess) Price; his 5 adult children Elbert R.K Price, of Temple, PA, Percy Price Jr., of West Palm Beach, FL, Herman Price, of Reading, PA, Lynn Knotts, of Bensalem, PA, and Tracy Calarco, of Coconut Creek, FL.
