Peter Charles Knerr, 75, of Birdsboro, sadly passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 as a result of injuries he sustained while on vacation with his wife in Boston, MA. His loving wife, Phyllis A. (Artz) Knerr of Union Twp. survives.
Born in Allentown on May 16, 1943, Peter was a son of the late Gerald and Lillian (Scherer) Knerr. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.
Peter was employed for several years with Firestone, Merritt's Antiques and Wetherill Associates Inc. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Birdsboro.
Peter was a member of the Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge 479 in Birdsboro and a member of the Birdsboro Sportsman Club and Southend Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis; Peter is survived by a son, Brent M. Knerr and his wife, Priscilla R. of Douglassville and five grandchildren, Thomas and his wife, Joshlyn, Austin, Peyton, Madelyn and Harrison.
Peter is predeceased by his daughter, Amy. L. (Knerr) Haring and his brother, Michael G. Knerr.
A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11am in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home before the service for a visitation on Monday from 10 to 11am. Burial will be private.
