Philip Richard Barbera, 88, of Leesport, PA, passed away on October 12, 2025, at his residence. Born in Reading, PA on March 23, 1937, he was a son to the late Rosario Samuel Barbera and Caroline (Grassi) Barbera.
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his 3 siblings, and his beloved longtime girlfriend, Barbara A. Harris.
From the young age of 16, Philip was behind the wheel, beginning his lifelong career as a truck driver. He went on to establish his own company, B&M Trucking, which he proudly operated until his retirement at 65. He was a devoted father who poured his heart into raising his children.
Philip’s love for music was unmistakable. A born entertainer, he brought Karaoke to Berks County through his business, Unisound Studio, in the Fairgrounds Square Mall. He found joy in singing, dancing, and simply living life to the fullest. It was on the dance floor that he met Barbara, the woman who would share countless happy moments by his side.
Philip was known for being a hardworking family man, for his sharp wit, and unmistakable Italian spirit. He had a way of making people laugh and never shied away from speaking his mind. His tireless work ethic and unforgettable personality left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Philip's spirit will be carried on by his 4 children: Justine Larish (Wayne), Brian Barbera (Wanda), John Barbera (Terri), and Caroline Barbera. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.
A viewing will be held at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA, 19601, on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Funeral services will commence at 12:30 pm, with Pastor Rashion "Woody" Santiago officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522.
