Raymond P. Reinhard Sr., 74, affectionately known as Ray to just about everyone, of Birdsboro, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at his residence. Born in Kutztown, PA on September 7, 1950, he was a son to the late Thomas D. Reinhard Sr. and Bernadette (Gesting) Reinhard. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his 2 brothers James D. Reinhard and Thomas Reinhard Jr.; and 4 sisters Loretta Missimer, Mary Lou Keeling, Patricia Scalesi and Lorraine Reinhard.
Ray dedicated 33 years, as a yard jockey at Maier’s Bakeries, until his well-deserved retirement. He took great pride in his work and found true enjoyment in what he did, making sure everything ran like a well-oiled machine.
When Ray wasn’t busy making sure bakery deliveries were perfectly orchestrated, you could find him out in the woods hunting, casting a line while fishing, or dreaming about his next trip to Canada – because, apparently, everything is better in Canada. When he wasn't doing any of those, he was cruising the open road on his motorcycle.
Ray was known for his love of the great outdoors, unwavering commitment to his job, and for his adventurous spirit. He firmly believed there was always time for one more ride, one more trip, and one more slice of bread. Though his stories and laughter will be missed by all blessed enough to have known him, we take comfort knowing he’s now riding the best trails in the afterlife, free from traffic jams.
Whenever you catch the irresistible scent of fresh-baked bread or hear the unmistakable rumble of a motorcycle in the distance, I hope you think of Ray.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Ray's spirit will be carried on by his beloved wife of 51 years, Anna Mae (Delp) Reinhard; son Raymond P. Reinhard Jr.; and 2 stepsons Frederick Crouse and Clarence Crouse. He also leaves behind 3 brothers Charles Reinhard, Frederick Reinhard and Richard Reinhard; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
A viewing for Ray will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Mark Stryjak officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd., Fleetwood, PA 19522.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray's memory may be made to LCBC Leesport, 130 Redners Way, Leesport, PA 19533.
