Richard M Barto

Richard M. Barto, 70, of Exeter Township passed away Jan. 2, 2013, in The Reading Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Renee L. (Sifen) Barto.

Richard was born in Reading on May 3, 1942, a son of the late Sherman L. and Ethel M. (Buchanan) Barto.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era and was employed by Dana Corp. Parish in Reading as an inspector, retiring from there.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his two sons, Randy M., and his wife, Marianne Barto, and Erik M. Barto and his girlfriend, Shawn Barndt, all of Exeter Township. There are three brothers: Sherman Jr. and his wife, Gloria Barto, of Muhlenberg Township, Gary and his wife, Jean Barto, of Millsboro, DE., and David and his wife, Marlene Barto, of Negaunee, MI; one sister, Stella and her husband, Roger Craig, of Magnolia, DE; and his mother-in-law, Bettie Sifen of Exeter Township.

Graveside services will be Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Everyone who will attend may gather at the entrance to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, P.O. Box 17279, Baltimore, MD 21298-9581.
