Rita E. Lesher

Born in Mount Carmel, Northumberland Co. on March 2, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Stella (Nolis) Marenick.

Rita was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was a member of Olivet Reformed UCC.

Rita was active in the Penn State Home Extension, a member of the Senior Woman’s Club of Muhlenberg, a former member of the Muhlenberg Parks and Recreation Board and a lifelong volunteer of Muhlenberg Library. Rita enjoyed crafts, sewing and cooking.

Surviving are two children: Dave Lesher and his wife, Deborah of Boyertown and Suzanne Houck and her husband, William of Reading; five grandchildren: Jacob, Molly, Rebekah, Jennifer and Amanda; three great grandchildren: Avery, Lyla and Bryce and one great grandson on the way.

In addition to her husband, Elroy; Rita is predeceased by her two siblings: Teresa and Steven Marenick.

Services for Rita are private and at the convenience of the family. Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 w. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606 is entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Olivet Reformed UCC, 1648 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
