Ronald Whis Morrison, 73, of Cumru Township, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Born in Reading, PA on October 6, 1951, he was a son to the late Silverlean (Richardson) Morrison and Whis Johnson. In addition to his parents, Ronald was greeted in heaven by his brother John and his sister Rosetta.
A graduate of Reading High School’s Class of 1970, Ronald was a track star whose love for running never wavered. He achieved the impressive feat of perfect attendance from kindergarten through 12th grade—a testament to his dedication and grit, which would define his life.
Professionally, Ronald wore many hats, excelling in roles with The City of Reading’s waste management team, Pete Sigmund’s tree-cutting crew, and as a furnace operator at Carpenter Technology, where he proudly worked for 35 years. He earned his well-deserved retirement in April 2009.
Ronald was a man in constant motion—literally and figuratively. Whether biking, running an astonishing 15 miles a day, or being a lifetime member of the Reading YMCA, he embodied an active and determined spirit.
Known for his sharp wit, impeccable cleanliness, and having a heart as big as his appetite, Ronald could deliver a joke as effortlessly as he could get everyone together for a cookout. Family and friends could always count on him for a laugh, a helping hand, or a large sandwich—because in his world, a small order simply wouldn’t cut it.
Ronald was a man of strong principles—tough yet deeply caring. He always stood on business, ensuring everything was done right, whether at work or in life. His journey was marked by resilience, humor, and an unshakable love for those around him. While he may have run his final race, his legacy continues to inspire, reminding us all to move forward with purpose, kindness, and a little extra room for a large sandwich—just in case you get hungry later.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Ronald.
Ronald's spirit will be carried on by his 4 children Ramee S. Morrison, Ronneshia B. Morrison, Ronda W. Morrison and Ronald W. Morrison II. He also leaves behind 10 siblings: James, Grace, Anita, Bernita, Diana, Arthur, Janice, Edward, Evelyn and Carmen; and 11 grandchildren: Johnny, Dominique, Demetri, Ayanna, Niyah, Nasiles, Alijah, Kameryn, Kennedy, Caius and Hazel to cherish his memory.
