Sally Rae Rymshaw

Sally R. (Ruth) Rymshaw, 82, of Reading, passed away on Friday, Feburary 2, 2018, after suffering complications from Alzheimer's disease and a short battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Rymshaw Sr. Sadly, Richard passed away March 5, 1997.

Born in Reading on August 13, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Albert F. and Nellie (Phillips) Ruth. She graduated from Reading High School in 1953.

Sally worked for 25 years at the former Community General Hospital before retiring in 1997 and she worked at AMF Heister's Lanes for many years, last working in 2008.

Sally's two passions were animals and music. She was a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan. She always liked to have fun and was known for her laughter.

Surviving are a son, Richard "Rick" J. Jr. and his wife, Cheryl M. (Moser) Rymshaw, of West Lawn; and a daughter, Terri A. (Rymshaw) Yiengst and her husband, Mark A. Yiengst, of Reading.

Also surviving are three grandchildren: Michelle Hayes and her husband, Jason, of Lexington Park, Md.; Richard "Ricky" J. Rymshaw III, of Reading; and Amanada Vazquez, of Reading. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Bailee Vazquez, Brendan Hayes, C.J. Vazquez and Meredith Hayes.

Sally was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard Sr.; a son, Michael A. Rymshaw, in 1966; and a sister, Elaine J. (Ruth) Ketchum.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Burial will follow services in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home for a viewing on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.

Terry and Family, So sorry for your loss. I had so many fond memories of Sally. Started working with her in 1982 in Out Patient Billing. I remember when her and I dressed up for Halloween for work, she wore my wedding dress as the bride of Frankenstein and I was Frankenstein. There are countless memories that I will cherish for life. Rest in Peace Sally,from One of your many co workers from Community General Hospital.
