Sandra Ann Hughes

Sandra Ann Hughes, 80, of Reading, Pennsylvania was carried to the Kingdom with the Lord and his Angels on Sunday, November 5, 2023 5:36AM and is at peace and rest with her departed loved ones, especially husband Brian, daughter Kelly, as well as her beloved dog Mimi.

Sandra was born in Reading on February 21, 1943 a daughter of the late Chester A. and Anna Susan (Drease) Werner.

She is survived by her 3 children; Chester A. Hughes, Ruth Ann and her husband Jose Rivera, Anna Susan Hughes, 8 grandchildren; Brian Rivera-Hughes, Erin Rivera-Hughes, Janessa Brown, Justine Brown, Emily Canepa, Anthony Canepa, K.J. Hughes and Clarissa Hughes and 14 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings; Chester A. "Sonny" Werner, Jr., Harold Werner, Walter "Whitey" Werner, and Dorothy J. Ramsey and was the last of her siblings and generation.

Sandra was employed by King Kup and Linnette's Candy and active with Bear Park Assoc. in the '70's. She was a member of the Moravian Church on Perry St., and helped out with the food bank. With the birth of the first grandson, Brian, to the years she spent adoring and being with her family, to the countless hours she spent playing Bingo with grandchildren, Janessa and Justine. She enjoyed traveling with her best friends, Christine Sassaman and Jessica Pachilis and visiting Atlanta to see Emily and Anthony's and their families. Sandra was delighted in celebrating the quinceaneras of her great granddaughters of Anaise and Samya and to the final goodbye to her great grandson Joel before leaving to Marine Boot Camp. Nanny loved all of her family and celebrated all of them.

A Celebration of Sandra's Life will be announced at a later date.
