Shirley "Cookie" Rose Oliver, 68, of Reading, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 16, 2020. Born November 6, 1952, in Reading, she was the cherished daughter of the late Irvin Wessner and Rose Oliviero.

Loving and kind, Cookie, as she was affectionately called, was a profoundly caring person with a gentle spirit that radiated compassion. She gave from her heart and loved with all her heart, even if she didn't know you. Resilient and strong, Cookie handled life's ups and downs with grace.

Cookie was a Reading High School graduate, worked at CNA Insurance for 35 years and happily volunteered at the Reading Hospital.

Cookie was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading. She was also a member of Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society for several years.

Cookie was a very fashionable person, she loved shopping, being around family and friends, going out to eat, watching movies, going to concerts and listening to music loud in her home, pretending she was at a concert.

Cookie's spirit will be carried on by 2 cousins Michael A. Oliviero Sr., and his wife Carmela, of Cumru Twp.; Dennis P. Oliviero, and his wife Colleen, of Wyomissing;and 2 godchildren Michael A. Oliviero Jr., and Apollonia Fuller. Cookie also leaves behind 3 nieces; Oriana, Brittany and Francesca & 3 nephews; Nicholas, Vincent & Dennis to cherish her memory.

A viewing for Cookie is scheduled at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 6 - 8:30 PM. Prayer services will commence at 8:30 PM, with Deacon Christopher May officiating. Another viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd.,Laureldale.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing & face masks are required in the funeral home.
