Socorro Ortiz Cruz Jr.

Born on June 30, 1965 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Socorro Ortiz Medina and Sonia Cruz Maisones.

Socorro was employed with Cougar Recycling as a sorter while living in Reading. When he was in Puerto Rico, he made screen doors for 15 years. He enjoyed playing pool, listening to music and playing the bongo drums.

He loved to spend time with his family and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are two daughters: Wanda Ortiz Morales of Reading and Janeirys Santos of Puerto Rico; a son: Fabian Santos of Puerto Rico; a stepdaughter: Samantha Bare of Reading and four grandchildren: Bryan, Jonathan, Jadielys and Junior.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 15, 2014 in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 11 to 1pm. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
