Steven Craig Krommes Bausher, 68, of Port Clinton, PA entered eternal rest on Monday, June 9, 2025. Born on November 3, 1956, in West Reading, PA, he was a son to the late Floyd A. Bausher and M. Elizabeth (Krommes) Bausher. In addition to his parents, Steven was greeted in heaven by his beloved spouse of 32 years, William “Bill” Harman, who passed just last May.
Steven wore many hats throughout his life: retail manager, security guard, and textile worker. But the roles that mattered most to him weren’t found on a résumé. He was an ordained minister devoted to his faith, a fiercely loving father and grandfather, and the kind of man who could turn even the most ordinary day into a memorable one with his sense of humor and clever wit.
His passions were uniquely his own: he collected horse figurines and memorabilia from the TV show Dark Shadows, he adored the music of Bill Gaither, had a serious sweet tooth for pastries, and never said no to a good bowl of pasta. Steven and Bill had a soft spot for greyhounds. What started as fostering quickly turned into adopting more than a few "foster failures." These dogs weren’t just pets; they were pampered, adored, and treated like royalty. Honestly, they lived lives most of us could only dream of.
Steven's spirit will be carried on by his son Matthew Bausher (Kyrie Hartz), his daughter Michelle Heller (Jeffrey Kruppenbach), and his 2 sisters, Beverly Bubbenmoyer (the late Paul Bubbenmoyer) and Karen Adams (David Adams). He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Heather, Rachel, Steven, Brianna, Lydia, and Victoria; 2 great-grandchildren, Ariella and Kaelin, and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
A viewing for Steven will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Prayer services will commence in the funeral home at 12:30 PM, with Pastor Bruce Osterhout officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
He was one of a kind and if you knew him, you know the world’s a little less funny, a little less loving, and a lot less Steven without him.
