Stevie "Baby" Cook

Stevie "Baby" Cook, 58, of Reading, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018. He was a son of the late Willie, Sr. and Mattie B. (Ryan) Cook.

Born in Reading Hospital on November 12, 1959, he graduated from Reading High School.

Stevie enjoyed all types of music and when dancing, he was light on his feet and stayed on the dance floor. He was Sergeant of Arms in the marching group, "Get Fresh Crew" on Edgar Steel Day and worked many jobs in the city.

He cooked at the CPC Club with his sister, Geneva and enjoyed playing cards. Stevie was a huge Chicago Bears fan but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Left behind to cherish his memory are a son, Kareem Bainbridge of Reading; the love of his life, Wanda Bainbridge of Reading; Leonard "Lenny" Bainbridge and his wife, Betty Ann (Farley) Bainbridge and Schaleen Bainbridge and her fiancé, Gerald Smith; two brothers: Alonzo "Buck" Cook; his wife, Linda "Cookie" (Conrad) and Willie Cook, Jr. and a sister: Rosa "Tee" (Cook) Crawl; daughter-in-law: Erika (Berringer) Bainbridge; sisters-in-law: Catherine (Abney) Cook and Cheryl (Duncan) Cook; a special grandchild: Zyirah Smith; special nephew: Michael "Tony" Cook and his right hand man: Scott "Ace Duecey" Brady.

Also surviving are a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Stevie is predeceased by Wanda's son: Richard "Sweet" Bainbridge and her daughter: Kimberly "Kimmi" Bainbridge; three brothers: Rev. David "Peewee" Cook, Sr., Jackie Cook and Jimmy Cook; two sisters: Geneva Cook Johnson and her husband, LeRoy and Annie Cook Howell and a sister-in-law: Margaret (Runffer) Cook.

Home Going Services for Stevie will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1pm in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Saturday for a viewing from 12pm to 1pm.

Stevie was a big brother to me for many years. We worked together at Sweet Street. I have many great memories from that time in our life. We lost touch over the years, but I have no doubt of I need anything Stevie would be right there to lend a helping hand like he did many time back in the day. I love you brother...
