Teodoro Reyes Sr.

Teodoro Reyes Sr., 88, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient. He was the husband of Luz Maria (Torrado) Reyes. Born in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Jose and Maria (Centeno) Reyes.

He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at the church and was a longtime volunteer with the Kennedy House. Mr. Reyes was employed as a chef with the former Crystal Restaurant, Reading and the Abraham Lincoln Hotel. He was lastly a chef with Community General Hospital, Reading prior to retiring.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Theodore Reyes Jr. of Reading, and his daughter, Mary L. Rodriguez of Blandon. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 322 S. 5th Street, Reading. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of St. George Mausoleum at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Friends and family may view on Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and also on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church.
