Violet May Rhoads

Violet was born in Reading on May 10, 1925 a daughter of the late John and Maggie (Nunemacher) Bussinger.

She was employed by Western Electric, AT&T, for more than 30 years, retiring in 1989.

Violet is survived by her 2 daughters, Cynthia Lynn (Rhoads) and her husband, Michael T. Thornburg, of Reading, and Shelley Lee (Rhoads) and her husband, Fred J. Baker, of Reading; her 2 grandchildren, Jesse T. Baker and his wife, Laura Mitchell Baker, of Washington, DC, and Hannah E. (Baker) and her husband, Anthony Glass, of Washington, DC. She is also survived by her very good friend, Elwood Rothenberger.

Violet was also predeceased by her siblings, Grace Roland and Paul Bussinger.

Services will be Monday, September 21, 2015, at 11 a.m., in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A gathering will be Monday, 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m., in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604, in her memory.
