Wanda Mae Bainbridge,75, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Reading Hospital - Tower Health. Born March 3,1946 in Reading, PA she was a daughter to the late James and Rose Lee (Robinson) Bainbridge.
Wanda had a heart for serving others and helped care for others through her 30 years as a CNA. She worked at various locations including but not limited to: Berks Heim and privately with Home Health Care.
Wanda spent her life caring for her family and friends, rarely stopping to do for herself. She was the true definition of selfless, always going above and beyond for any and everybody.
Wanda loved attending service at Spring Valley Church of God, talking on the phone, watching scary movies and going to comedy shows. She was also an avid NBA basketball Fan, Lebron James and Joel Embid were her favorite players.
Wanda's greatest gift was the love she gave her family. Her family and children brought her much joy, and later her joy was increased by being with and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She taught them about love, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, humility, and accepting people. Wanda had a way of seeing people as individuals, each with their own struggles, and her perspective on life made her quick to empathize and forgive.
Every once in a while, life offers us the opportunity to know and love someone so unique, so special, that describing them in a few words is difficult at best. A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart too big to describe, a blessing to everyone she knew, and a light in this world that greatly needed it. She will be dearly missed.
Wanda's spirit will be carried on by her adult children Schaleen Bainbridge-Smith and her husband Gerald Smith, Lenny Bainbridge and his wife Betty Ann (Farley) Bainbridge, Kareem Bainbridge, Tracey McClary, Erika (Berringer) Bainbridge, wife of the late Richard "Sweet" Bainbridge; and Porsha Carlisle; 8 grandchildren Amaree, Juleon, Azarea, Jameel, Janelle, Zyirah, Zhyir, Zhanye; 10 great grandchildren Aaniyah, Jayla, Jahsear, Ahmir, Zahnay, Zyasia, Javius, Jazmay, Greyson and Wyatt. Wanda also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from every walk of life to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was greeted in heaven by her sister Jean (Bainbridge) Cooper, son Richard "Sweet" Bainbridge, daughter Kimberly "Kimmi" Lynne Bainbridge and the love of her life Stevie "Baby" Cook.
